Interesting article.... Gore is a politician, not a scientist. anything a politician says must be taken with a grain of salt.
Is the world getting warmer...Yes
Are the use of green house gases the only cause....Probably not.
Has the Earth had climate changes in the past not related to humans..certainly. Is this debate over ...not by a long shot!

There are a couple of problem's with Gore's movie
1. Gore is an alarmist, who underestimates the intelligence of the American public. Instead of explaining the theory of global warming, and it's actual effects, which are mild but can be quite serious in the long run, he went with exaggeration and scare tactics. Apparently, Gore thinks the American people are too stupid to understand a sophisiticated argument!
2. Gore doesn't have any real solutions. Although almost all of the major polution problems in the world today are because of corporations, Gore doesn't want to impose any sanctions on them, instead he wants to let them buy and sell the right to pollute!! He wants ordinary people, who produce a tiny proportion of the pollution, to have a reduced standard of living - which not only will destroy our quality of life, and won't stop the pollution problem.

did you even read the article you listed? It basically said that gore did a good job with a tough subject. Some people will not be convinced, these people have too much to lose professionally to admit they were wrong, and some people who say he is wrong are just not qualified enough to be listened to. Its like that movie "the day after", probably wont happen, but do you really think driving a gas guzzling polluting humvee to work in the city carrying the huge load of a briefcase is worth the risk?

Attacking Al Gore isn't the same thing as attacking Global Warming.
I think Gore's Christ-complex is wearing thin.
You do have to question the intelligence of someone who says global warming is a non-partisan issue, yet he casts his politically divisive self as the narrator of his movie.
What a dolt.

Well that article really didn't shoot it down. We don't know for sure the affects we will have, but it wouldn't hurt to find alternative sources of energy anyway. Hell if noting else it would be nice not to have more smog in the future w/ growing populations. Gore did kind ham it up a little to get his message across, but so does the other side.

I say, good for him, he is making a statement. Anyone who does not believe in Global Warming has not been watching the changing weather. Hurricanes, tornados and so on. Or you are just to young to remember when a hurricane would bring so much fear b/c they were not so devastating. Oh and I forgot flooding all over the world. I'm 37 and it was rare that a hurricane would hit Florida, now we just expect it.

Are you kidding me? Are people so stupid or lazy or what is it that has you in denial about the harm that is being done to our environment?
They are predicting water shortages, followed by food shortages, flooding killing millions etc, and you want to sit on your high horse and say, "nah!!! that will never happen?"
We had over 30 or 40 smog days last year. That is up from 4 or 5 in just about as many years.
I suppose that has nothing to do with polluting our planet either...nor do the massive heat waves that reached 130 degrees for 3 weeks last summer either...that's just "normal."
Frankly, you cannot afford to be so GLIB about this. You are the ones who will be dying of lung and skin cancer, be left without water and food as will your children.
That's how much you love your kids? You should be ashamed to even dare oppose supporting positive measures to ensure our planet survives.

Well, it was fairly over blown. But if it gets people to think about ways to conserve energy and cut emissions. It's a good thing.
