All you have to do is attach another powerfull permanent magnet to the permanent magnet you already have. If it doesn't repel, it will neutralize the field current.

The only thing that will shield a magnetic field is a superconductor. However you may find that rather expensive to build and maintain.

Magnetism cannot be shielded. You can try experimenting with different metals, but you will find that there is nothing that diminishes magnetism except distance.

You can shield the field inside something by using this sort of stuff-:

It doesn't take away the field, it simply changes the fields path.
