I'm wondering why Britney and Lindsay can leave rehab whenever they want (even to go shopping), and Eddie Van Halen can't leave for a day to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Is Eddie too far gone to accept an honor?

It depends on why you're IN rehab. Some are more strict than others. Also, Britney has only left for her AA meetings, and they let you leave for those. But Lindsay isn't even in a real rehab. She's basically at a spa.

For people like Britney or Paris they have rehab 'lite' It's just a hiding place when things go a little crazy. It's a total waste of time,a con to make the public think they are making a serious attempt to deal with their problems. Let's face it,you can't rehab stupid!

Eddie CHOSE not to show up at the rock n roll hall of fame.
Being in Rehab is voluntary, he can leave whenever he wants, he wasn't obligated by law.
Aside from his alcohol/drug abuse, he's a big baby, and so is David Lee Roth.
The only people they hurt by not showing up was themselves, they probably watched it on TV and cried.

no, he's probably just in a REAL rehab... not a resort
