I am getting my first car. Which should it be? A Mustang Gt or Mazda Rx8? Both would be brand new? Which one should i get and Why?

Ford owns a third of mazda just a heads up.
The mazda has a funny 1.3L R2 engine, 232 HP while the Mustang (considering your going for the V8 which is the same price as the base RX-8) has a 4.6 V8 engine cranking out a clean 300 HP.
The Mazda gets 18/24 MPG and the 'Stang gets 17/25.
0-60 on the Mustang is 4.9 seconds (which is incredible for a 2 ton car) while the RX-8 is 5.9
The Mustang also has an optional convertible package, the RX doesn't. The RX also has 2 "mini doors" for a total of 4 doors (the mini doors can only be opened if the larger ones are) which really spoils the RX from being a true muslce/sport car
I prefer the Mustang, but it's a bit mainstream, if you want to be different go with the RX-8

For a FIRST car? Neither. Both cars have too much power for somebody who isn't used to driving. Get something you won't be tempted to burn the tires off of at every light for your first couple of years. The life you could save just might be yours.

get the stang,,,as great as the RX is,, parts and maintenance cost way more. most guys wreck their first car....get a buick...big ,cheap, low insurance good MPG
