You made a good choice. He is definitely around a top 10 pick if you ask me. Pujols, Soriano, Arod, Johan Santana, Ryan Howard, Beltran, Vlad Guerrerro, D Ortiz are the others I would select ahead. Hope this helps.

I would say he is Borderline, but would be gone defiantly by the end of the Second Round. Third Base is a tough position so it is not a bad idea to grab one in the first round. If I was to rate the 3rd baseman I would go Arod, Wright, Cabrera and then Aramis Ramirez followed by Ryan Zimmerman. In two of the leagues I am in I had the 12th pick which also gave me the 13th . I usually selected a Starter and a Closer, then with my 3rd pick I would Go best player available regardless of position , although C, 1b and SS I would tend to draft late. First Base because there are so many good ones , Catcher because unless you are getting Mauer there is not all that much difference between most of them and Short Stop because I like Kahill Greene and no one else seems to He is available late. Anyway I think you did fine , I just hope you grabbed a stud starter or reliever with your next pick. One reason I like Grabbing a K rod or Rivera if I am drafting late in the first round is that it cause people to panick and start grabbing top ones themselves, leaving some decent offensive guys available for my third pick. Grabbing a 3rd baseman kind of forces the same kind of thing. Because there is such a drop off say between Cabrera and a Adrian Beltre who would It makes the smart owners grab a 3rd baseman sooner then later. There are lots of outfielders so you can usually grab a really good one in the 5th and 6th round . I think you did fine.

You did fine. On average, Cabrera is being taken with pick 11.6 in Yahoo leagues. Round 1.3, so 4/5 he's in the first round.

If you want to check the link, go down to the draft analysis and click on 3b to see the stats. The rest of it is just junk from my fantasy league.
