I personally hope every gay currently in the military has someone special. Reason being a person fighting for someone else is always a better soldier.

I think in a country that prides itself on diversity of religion, race, and creed. That we are still bashing someone over their choices. I mean really keep your religion to yourself and let people live their lives.

Also remember people that attraction happens between men and women as much as it does between gay people. So if you say that removes order then you are of the opinion that men and women should not be allowed in the military. Think about that for a moment.

At the same time I hope that those that choose the life style or where born in the life style realize to take caution with who you approach because most people are not gay.

Sexuality should not play a part in the military. I don't agree with the don't ask don't tell, but I don't think someone should be gay and proud. I don't think people should be proud of 'who they are' but 'what they do'. Sexual orientation chauvinism is as ignorant as any other chauvinism. The last thing I need to do is see a Gay Military Parade.

If you're gay or straight and you're proud, you're stupid. Sexuality does not define a person, but is an aspect of a person, and not a very big one.

I agree with the current policy. Allowing that type of behavior in the military would be counter to order. The military, unlike any other occupation, must have order, without distractions, to complete their tasks. Many more people would be injured or killed in war if people were concerned with having to deal with that type of behavior. Also, that type of behavior could be exploited by a group of persons that have captured someone with that lifestyle.

The military is not about "expression". If one is joining the military to find self expression, one is, as my mother would say "barking up the wrong tree." Military life requires team effort and conformity. If you sign the contract to join, then you forfeit your right to "express yourself".

No the gays should not be able to express themselves or have a boyfriend in the military. While I was in I saw dikes fighting over each other in the dorm. That is my house too and I have the right to not have that immoral activity in my home. Don't ask don't tell is as close to acceptance as they can expect to get and they need to be thankful for it.

can straights have a boy/girl friend while in the military? there's your answer.

you asked "Do you believe Gay's should be able to express themselves and have a boyfriend while in the military?"

because of the way it is worded, having a boyfriend is their expression, according to their statement.. so therefor, unless you misspoke I answered your question fully by stating that I believe they should have the same rights as straight people.

so if straights can/can't then gays are the same.. .. treat people as people.. now do you understand the response? or shall I elaborate more?

No I do not. Being gay to most men is uncomfortable to think about. It undermines morale and puts people in uncomfortable situations. There is no place for homosexuality in the military.
