Personally, I'd keep it anonymous. Slip a note under their door asking them to keep it down. You're probably not the only one who's annoyed. I live in an apartment and if there's enough commotion, I can hear things all the way down the hall and even on other floors. Maybe it doesn't bother people quite as much as you because they're not right next door to it. If putting an anonymous note under their door doesn't work, then yes, write a letter to your landlord. The landlord will want your complaint in writing to keep in their file. Again, you can keep it anonymous. Sign your complaint "A Concerned Resident". I've had to complain about a noisy neighbor once. It's not something I wanted to do and I kept quiet for a long time. But, they threw another party and a fight broke out in the hallway outside right my door and I was scared. I felt they went too far that time. In the city where I live, if you make an anonymous complaint, your landlord can't disclose who the complainer was. Keeping it anonymous made me feel safer.

Yeah I have a suggestion.......try talking to them! Tell them that before you complain to the landlord or call the police, that you want to try to be a good neighbor by asking nicely that they try to keep it down at night. If they blow you off (which they probably will) then complain to the landlord. If all else fails, ask to move into a different apartment unit. But unfortunately when it comes to noise, you rarely win. You're always going to hear SOMETHING. And then wonder if they're doing it on purpose.

I had a similar problem once, and my landlord told me there was nothing that I could do and that I should call the police. I finally convinced them to send a letter to the tenant reminding them of the noise stipulations in the lease and it calmed down. Your best bet would be to call the police, especially if it is them fighting or partying that is so loud. I have had the police called on me for a rowdy game of monopoly (lol) so it's not that big of a deal to call the police to come over and tell them to keep it down.

Either tell the landlord what's going on now, or tell him the promise of a quiet enviroment isn't being lived up to by them. Threaten him with breach of your lease agreement if he doesn't correct the problem. Or have him put you in a different apartment. With a baby in the house, they should not be partying all hours and creating disturbances

YES!!! Tell the landlord exactly what is happening. If it does not get any better, demand to move to another apartment in the complex. If they don't work with you, break you lease and move. That is crazy.
