When I was little my Mom had 5 Cocker Spaniels. And they were the best dogs! So when I decided to get a dog for my kids we got a C.S.

Call me crazy but I'm going with chickens. Having a tame flock of Bantams was just funny.
Tied for first place is a horse, of course. The gelding I had was awesome.
Then the dogs, one in particular. An Australian Blue Heeler named Maggie. Very smart, and great at problem solving.

I had a shepherd/husky growing up (we had to put her down when she was 14, I was 23) and I think I miss her the most, but my other pets all still live with me, hehe. She was the best dog, protective, smart, loyal and always there to lend an ear when life was so hard.
My male cat is loved (and sometimes hated, lol) for his persistence when he wants cuddling and his clumsiness. He gets so overcome with emotion that he gives love bites which can hurt but no one faults him for it.
My female cat is dainty and hardly makes a peep. She gives you a look of undying love when she wants petting but won't demand it.
My cockatiel is affectionate and smart. He says several words and phrases and nothing can steal your heart like a bird who says "hello pretty bird, kiss kiss, cuddle" to you when you take him out of his cage.
My budgies only have eyes for each other and are terrified of humans but I love to watch them interact with each other. They're bonded and don't even notice they're being watched. I love the sounds they make and they way they chase the water when I put their cage in the shower to clean it.
It's hard to pick one when they all hold so much space in my heart. I love them all equally but for different reasons.

I've had quite a few pets. I was gave a dog when I was born, a chow chow.. he lived to be around 15 and then passed on. His name was Whimpy, LOL. He was huge, if he stood up he'd be around 6 foot tall and he looked scary but if you went close to him he'd run like a baby but with me it was different, if I came outside he'd want to play and hug on me. I can def. say that's one dog I will never ever forget.

Well noone can ever replace my Ginger. I grew up with her & she was the best dog ever, part of the family. Now I have Phantom, my cat who is my 1st "only mine" pet. He can never be replaced either.
