Line the walls with egg-trays and then hang a curtain over the top. What you need to soundproof is still air. You get one layer between the wall and the egg-trays, and a second between the egg-trays and the curtain. The more layers the better, so two layers of egg-tray will be better than one,but you need to be practical.

i could say the two cinder block partitions are okay to date as deadening...the different 2 wood partitions won't be. in the event that they do no longer look to be sheetrocked and properly insulated...i could be sure that happens...Then pass to the save and purchase those issues they used to call egg crates. they're contoured foam that was once the fad on beds to cause them to softer and that they seem to be an egg crate. you have to be able to conceal the partitions with those incredibly low priced...and that they'll block the echos from the cinderblock and sheetrock. If there is not any carpet interior the room i could pass purchase some low priced carpet to put in there for the comparable reason. while recording, the final factor you opt for for is a few stuipid echo sounds trashing up your recordings. the pros use something corresponding to the eggcrates in professional recording studios, however the froth is probably no longer that plenty distinctive and it could wreck the bank to do an entire wall in it.!!!!

If your flat has neighbors , forget it , the cost of the materials would be astronomical and not leave room for equipment.
Locate a new flat with a basement where yours is the next apartment.
The basement automatically provides soundproofing on most of 5 sides , so you will only need to do the ceiling and windows.
Good Luck

My answer's superfluous - I would have said polystyrene or equally good but not such a good look are egg boxes. Try heavy drapes or curtains.

Thick drapes and a thick carpet. Don't use polystyrene in a fire it will give off poisonous gases.
