I have been getting pink gels on my nails for the past 2 years. My nails used to be okay (not bad, not great). The reason I started getting the gels is because my nails started getting soft, peeling and breaking. Last week, one of my artificial/pink gels broke, and when the rest came off, my nails are extremely soft and the whole nail feels tender and sore. I'm wondering if the rest are like that and if it would be advisable to get the my gels taken off and let them be natural for awhile. The nail salon uses a dremmel for filing-could that cause the problems I'm experiencing? What can I do to help my nails thicken? Is there anything other than pink gels that will make my nails look nice without all of the damage? I normally keep them on the short/medium side and use a pink (essie sugar daddy) for the color. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

If your nails is thin and weak then should shouldn`t get fake nails in the first place... because everytime you would get a full set or fill.. they would have to grind your nails.. which makes it even thinner..... my advice is that you should chill on the fake nails until your nails get thick again... take a citamin called BIOTIN.. it should helps your nails.. hair.. and skin healthier... also.. ask them about OPI nail strenghtener.. it works and you can do it by yourself.... just buy the bottle.. apply 2 coats and leave it on for 2 weeks... remove the polish so it can breath for a couple of hours then reapply... if you keep this up.. you should see a huge improvement... trust me..

A sore nail plate is a definite sign of overfiling. It will take 6 months for your natural nails to grow back out. I use custom made full coverage decals to help a manicure last and to do some wild nail art

I would have the gels removed, carefully, and let your nails rest foe a few weeks. Use a topcoat alone to help prevent breakage.
