I believe "Samson" would be a great name, as he was the strongest man (physically) in the bible. If you wanted to go with a Greek version of Strength, you could name him "Hercules" There was also a Show a LONG time ago called "Gentle Ben" about a huge Grizzley that was very gentle with people. Hope one if these names help!! God Bless-

I almost bought a beautiful, chestnut 16 hand half-quarter half-thoroughbred several years ago and his name was Tucker. Ever since then, I look at every tall chestnut and think of him.

The naming of a horse, or any animal for that matter, has a lot to do with its personality. Since you said he's gentle, I would call him Babe, or Chancey, or Saint Phillip.
Hope this helps!!

How wonderful for you, but he might not respond as well to another name. After all, how would you feel if someone said, "I like you, but I want to change your name?"
Koda, (koh-dah) means "friend" in Dakota Sioux.
Misun, (mee-soon) means "little brother" in Lakota Sioux.
Nektosha, (neck-doe-shah) means "horse" in Potawatomi.
