depending where job is and what and if union-per contract, your boss will specify and in some cases like for smokers about every 45 mins, obviously if your on production line your breaks will come when line stops or someone releives you. check your local labor board for info and to handle disputes. ive workrd production and security jobs, the later let you take break when you can and may or may not want you to clock out,in or wrote down, but when doing rounds you could always go restroom or smoke break every 1to2hrs in 8hrs. hope this helps for oh, usa

In the state of NY you are required to be given a lunch break at 6 hours of work. Anything under that is not required. But you would need to check with the labor department for your state

My place of employment gives us two 15 minute breaks and a half hour lunch per 8 hour shift. Check your employee handbook and/or the labor board.

It depends on what state you live in. Many companies also have their own policies. You may want to check with either your HR manager, your internal company website, or your state department of labor for additional information.
