I took an ovulation test on 3/3/07 and it was positive. My husband and I had unprotected sex the day before and the day before that. The following week I was super exhausted and moodier than I have EVER been! Then the exhaustion went away but my boobs hurt like crazy and I had this wierd mucous like discharge one day only - i have never had that! My boobs are bigger too now. I have very irregular periods so I cant go by my period due date to figure out if i am pregnant. I have taken like 5 urine pregnancy tests and had a blood test last Friday and all said negative. But i'm afraid they are saying negative because its too soon to check? Is this hopeful thinking on my part or is it to soon to check? Could I be pregnant. Also, my dr gave me an Rx to make my period come but i am afraid to take it if i could possibly be pregnant. Please someone give me your insight. Thank you!!!

I got my first positive home pregnancy test at 9 days past ovulation, and home pregnancy tests are much less sensitive than a blood test. It's 10 days past ovulation now, so take another home pregnancy test in the next day or two and if it's a negative, then you're probably not pregnant and should take the prescription.

Sometimes ovulation tests that you get over the counter can be off by as much as a week. I recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" when trying to achieve pregnancy, it's fantastic. Good luck on your ttc journey!

I kind of disagree with some of the previous posts. I think blood test starts to show positive soon after implantation. It is only after implanation that HCG starts to be produced.

Implantation usually occurs 6 to 12 DPO, it could be a couple of days earlier or later. Say implantation occurs at 11 DPO, blood tests might only show positive after 12 DPO. So you still have a chance this cycle.

Most of your pregnancy symptoms really look too early to appear. Maybe it's something related to your stress. Good luck on TTC.

Well, you could be. But you wouldn't have had symptoms so soon. THe tiredness usually doesn't come til 2 and 3 months, and the breasts may only enlarge way later.
However, I think it's way more important that you get to good gynecologist and get testing done to find out why your periods are irregular.
