I have had the pleasure of caring for 160 different kinds of snakes at a snake farm in Texas. Stay away from the King Cobra. If you are an amateur he will bite you sooner or later. Find some other cool pet. This one is not for you. One mistake and you are Dead. Think about it.

THE LAST I READ ABOUT THAT SUBJECT, WAS IN THE NEW YORK AREA I BELIEVE. I LIVE IN CA. YOU CAN'T HAVE ALOT OF SPECIES THAT YOU CAN IN OTHER STATES. BUT,..WANT SOME ADVICE? SERIOUSLY? UNLESS YOU ARE A HEAVILY QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED HERPER, NEITHER YOU OR "I" SHOULD BE ABLE TO OBTAIN SUCH SPECIMENS. I MEAN I'VE BEEN KEEPING REPTILES ALL MY LIFE. I'VE HAD 4 LARGE CROCODILIANS, THEY WEREN'T THE EASIEST THINGS TO KEEP YOU KNOW? BUT IF THERE'S ONE PET, THAT WITHOUT A DOUBT, IS THE UNDISPUTED KING OF "ESCAPING" HIS ENCLOSURE,....IT'S THE SNAKE! O.K.,..TRY & PICTURE THIS IF YOU WILL. YOU ARE STARING FACE TO FACE WITH A UP TO 15+ FT. SNAKE, THAT HAS THE REAL EARNED REPUTATION FOR AGGRESSIVELY GOING AFTER MAN. YOUR STANDING FACE TO FACE, BECAUSE WHEN IT'S GOT IT'S HEAD REARED UP,..THAT'S HOW TALL IT WOULD BE! HAVE YOU EVER EVEN HELD ONTO A REAL TRUE 15 FT. PYTHON ETC.? NOW IMAGINE THAT SNAKE MEAN AS HELL, AND LOADED WITH LETHAL TOXIC VENOM. NOT A GOOD SCENE FRIEND. IT REALLY ISN'T WORTH THE TROUBLE. I UNDERSTAND THE ATTRACTION TO SUCH CRITTERS, I'VE HED FROGS THAT EAT CHICKENS & A GOPHER SNAKE AS WELL AS TH E CROCS. THAT'S SORT OF THE THING ABOUT KEEPING REPTILES, THEIR LITTLE SAVAGES, THEY MUNCH DOWN ON OTHER ANIMALS! HEH! C-YA!

I question your legitimacy. If you were with a reputable zoo you would have access to contacts and different species.

It is legal in several places to own venomous reptiles and a zoo would be one of them, however, again, I doubt you are with a legitimate zoo because of your lack of contacts.

If you can prove to me that you are with a legitimate zoo I can put you in contact with the right organization in Florida to purchase venomous reptiles.

Kingsnake.com is an amazing resource for reptile purchasing. I didn't see and king's on there just now, but check back every now and then and see if you can find one. Go to www.kingsnake.com then in the little black links look for 'Classifieds' and click on that, go down to 'Venomous.' They have some Cobra's there now, but no kings....

I would locate a zoo that has one and ask them where they got it and what paper work you need. also if you are the one feeding it... well just be careful!
