I understand the point you are trying to make, here. But it would be like asking, 'Should electricity be banned because faulty wiring causes innumerable house fires and needless deaths every year.'
It's a good thing, but if used improperly can cause more damage than good.
It really is up to a collective consciousness to be aware of what they are indoctrinating their young people in. Not only that, a fully developed person should be able to think about the natural consequences that arise from their actions.
If you ban religion, it will go underground and cause way more damage than good. Just look at all the civil unrest in Ireland and you can see what I mean by this.

No I don't think religions should be banned. I believe in God and I am a Christian but I have wondered about this very same thing. I seriously don't think God likes religion. Just in the Christian religion look how many denominations there are. I don't think banning religion would be the answer, but I do think we should find some way to get a long. We should love each other, and not fight with each other.

No. Islam is the only religion starting wars. Contrary to what many believe, it was the Muslims who started every Crusade, and most conflicts around the world today involve Muslims against a non-Muslim enemy. We shouldn't ban every religion, only Islam.

Do you know your rights in your constitutional law. religion is one your rights under the law, my friend little boy.If religion will be ban as you suggested, it will not be allowed by the law because it is a clear violation of right under the law. Wait until you will become the most highest leader in the world and try to enact law against religion and ban it, and let us see if the majority will favor you, then you will be a winner to be like Miguel Archangel

But then how do you go about banning religion. Sure you could close down all the religious buildings, and burn all the religious books, etc, but you can't stop people believing!!
Take for instance racism - it is an offence to be racist towards someone of a different race but it doesn't stop people holding racist views even if they do not overtly express them!!

No, because then that would start another war. If something like a war, or a religious conflict, is going to happen, it's going to happen. You can't control it. The best you can do is try to stop it. Let events like Sept. 11th, Holocaust, and even DARFUR serve as a lesson. We learn history, so we can't repeat it, so....LET'S STOP THE DARFUR MASSACRE!...before we start to use it in past tense

Do you mean banned - if so I think that would make life a lot less interesting. Whilst we might not agree with what everyone else believes, it does stimulate debate and provoke discussion. Without religion you would also lose its amazing cultural heritage and the hope it gives so many people.

If religion was a band, it would be rock and roll.
Ooops, sorry, re-read the question: No it shouldn't be 'banned' - it is the abuse of religion that causes the needless killings.

Should it be BANNED? Or should it get together and form a musical group? People kill each other over all sorts of things, not just religion.

Well, the kind of religion you're talking about probably should be. No one likes wars, but fighting for the right to worship God is probably worth it, however, I don't like the way our world is headed. Religion is bad because it isn't about worshiping God anymore, it is about keeping traditions, having birth rights to land, having a race. Religion of today is more about what family you are born in and what region of the world you live in. I don't like this kind of religion. I don't want to just follow my parents, I want to worship God for real and follow him where ever he takes me. Satan is the one that causes religion to be corrupt. He is the one that causes wars, not God. God may use people in wars to fulfill a purpose, but I'm sure he doesn't like murder or ruthless killing. I hope that helps, and it's my opinion, you don't have to agree. Thanks for reading and God bless.
