I never wear marching socks, and at the moment I have both feet in plaster and even they are odd. One is pink and one is purple. When I go out I have knitted socks which have poms poms and bells on and again I wear odd ones. Show me the rule that says socks have to match.

uhm I don't know exactly what you mean by odd socks.
But I'm going to say NO! Say you wear a blue sock on the right and a yellow on the left.. people are going to look at you like you're the biggest freak in the universe.
Wear the same colour and make sure it matches.

Yes of course then we don't have to worry about the sock monster eating the odd socks in the washing machine. He might get a bit gready though with all the odd socks floating around in there

it depends on why the odd socks are there.
some people have trouble seeing certain colors and wind up with odd socks as a result, while others just don't care.
as a general rule, odd socks usually are worn only as a last resort, a costume, or just to wear something in a caual atmosspere such as a family outting at the lake, or a park.. most people just get rid of them, and buy new ones. me, l keep my odds socks, just to have something to wear around the house or when going somewhere of little or no importance such as getting groceries, or to the hardware store. of course, i usually wear only white socks, so it doesn't appear odd socks of different colors or even one color really matters to me.

Yes I wear them all the time and my partner does and our little boy. I seem to put a pair in the washing machine and only one comes out. I dont know where they all go! Its ok as long as no one can see them. So in the Summer its going to be a nightmare when my little boy has shorts on, he will have to wear matching socks then.
Where ur odds one with pride and hope u dont get run over by a bus and have to be taken to hospital!

Yes, why not? Every individual is their own person. If you are comfortable wearing odd socks then do so. Everyone has their own odd and weird habits.

Absolutely....
when you see some of the fashions going about nowadays..one particular one the REDICULOUS jeans that are falling down showing the boxers underneath...
anyway..back to socks...do you do it deliberately or is it because you cant be bothered to sort out a pair?...if its because you cant be bothered you are sending signals to the observant world about yourself.... "I am so disorganised that I cannot arrange to have a matching pair of socks on my feet..do not trust me in your corporation"...
If you wish to avoid giving these signals then dump all socks and buy 10 pairs of identical ones (my personal solution)
The second solution is to bluff it out..ie make it perfectly clear to the observant world that you absolutely intended to wear odd socks as a statement about yourself...this requires a lot of organisation..more so than arranging a matching pair..
So that theres no Mistake you would need for instance one Simpsons sock and one South park sock, one Man U sock and one Leeds sock,
but...Yes. the short answer.
