The gas cap has been replaced, it's had a tune-up, oil change and it did have a cracked manifold. All that has been fixed but the engine ligt came back on under less than 300 miles and my fresh oil change and fresh oil is gone basically. there is no leak. No trace is left behind at all. It's just burning oil. What else can it be? The Oxygen sensor?

1st off, your O2 sensor might be what is causing the check engine light to come on but it sounds like you have more of an internal engine problem than anything else.

2nd, you need to verify that you are loosing oil, how much per week/day? It sounds like you are burning oil through the pistons. Possible problems include bad piston rings, leaking valve stem seals, blown head gasket...amoung other things.

3rd, without proper diagnostics you won't get a proper repair, take it to a trusted and certified technician to have him do a proper diagnosis and repair this problem.

(In 300 miles?????It should have been a heavy blue haze around you to let you know something is not right.)

That is not devouring...that has to be leaking. No old timers (from the 50's burned that much oil) How can you breathe?

First and foremost the lack of oil. That is why the light comes on. Oil is its lifeBLOOD. No oil - it dies like now.....

You gotta keep the level up. Take it back to the shop that did the fixin?? and find out whats up. Get off your butt. This vehicle should not be driven until it is fixed.

have you tried an oil additive that thickens the oil, like a no-smoke or something. There may be residue in the engine from the manifold repair that is causing everything to not run smoothly, a good quality oil additive that conditions and cleans the motor would help, then run it with an oil thickener and see if that helps.

Get the codes read, if the check engine light is on, then the computer is recording a fault. If your engine is burning its oil quickly, it is probably worn out and needing rebuilt. If it is taking awhile for the oil to disappear, then you might have a bad PCV valve, bad valve seals, blown head gasket, or a leak that isn't getting to the ground.

Sounds like the engine has been ridden hard & put away wet once too often - time for a rebuild.
