I'd like to give my ferrets an occasional treat. When the weather is warm they get a little bit of ice cream but apart from that...I read everywhere...there's not a lot else they can have.
Any suggestions?

They really shouldn't eat anything but meat. Their digestive system as well as metabolism are not equipped to handle fruits, veggies, a lot of carbs, and sugar. As a matter of fact, if a ferret eats more then a little of the above it can cause a common ferret disease called Insulinoma.
I find that my ferrets love raisins, crackers, pretzels, ice-cream, yogurt, and many more things BUT more then a nibble or lick is not recommended. Keep with a good quality ferret food, vitamin paste like FerriVite, and ferret treats and they will be happy still. Go ahead and give them a small lick of ice cream every now and again or a raisin here and there but that is it! Don't go overboard.
Unseasoned poached meat such as chicken, pork, or beef can be offered if you really want to give them something good.

no ice cream- milk is not good for their system. Usually gives them loose stools- they are lactose intolerant when it comes to cow's milk.
You could always just give them ice cubes as a summer treat, my ferrets love that.

Otherwise I will give my guy any meat (chicken beef, eggs, etc) that I am eating or the occasional piece of fruit. You are not supposed to give them a lot of sugar, but a little bit everyonce and a while doesn't hurt them.

They sell treats specifically for ferrets, like Marshall's Bandit treats and whatnot. You can give them cat treats, small pieces of unseasoned, unsalted meat, small licks of vanilla ice cream(wouldn't recommend chocolate). Mine also consider their Hartz Hairball Remedy to make a good treat. Feretone and Ferretvite also make good occasional treats. So does gerber chicken baby food. All these treats are fine, as long as given in moderation.

I have never given my ferrets people food as treats...So I don't know much about that. I do know that they make Ferretone treats that you can purchase at the pet store. You can give them these up to 3-4 times daily. They love them, and they are good for them. They have alot of vitamins and minerals for the skin and coat.

The best treat is ferretone cut with olive oil. It's not harmful to them like fruit and other non ferrety foods. They love that stuff and will do anything for it. Please get ferrets for dummies. It's a great source of information on ferrets.

Strawberries! Everytime I pull out a strawberry, my ferret starts freaking out! He LOVES strawberries! Maybe your ferret will as well.

Hey....as long as you give them in moderation, try these, my 2 love them
Peeled grapes (no more than 1/2 a grape)
Raisins/sultanas (as above)
Felix cat sticks (1/2 inch)
Peeled cucumber (thumb nail size)
Ferretone - they will do anything for this stuff, we call it Magic Milk!! LOL!

most of my ferrets liked bananas,cereal,cat treats,raisins and chicken.i never gave mine any milk products.

you can give them raisins,Cheerios,small cubes of cheese,small pieces of boiled chicken mine loves all of these i have listed and besides getting a cold once does not have any health problems
