We must be on our own feet. At the same time we should be pleasing. That's the art of social being.
We must practise to convey our stand in a pleasing manner.

rational mind is also called the faculty of logic and
reason.
The feeling to please some one is connected with
emotional mind. The need to stand on one's own
footing is connected with rational mind. The Upanishads
say that these two are opposite in nature. Modern
psychologits have also observed it, but they are
not very sure of it:
"At the same time, reason sometimes clearly seems to
come into conflict with some desires (even while not
being in conflict with others) giving us the impression
that reason is separate from emotion".

To please someone in my opinion is to make some one happy and gay. And I don't feel there is some harm in it .
No it will be a boring life if you are on our own feet and not have feeling of making some one happy by pleasing .
Are you realy a human being or a ghost!!!!!!!!!

Pleasing others is a never ending story.If you start pleasing others,then you will loose your identity.
