I was over my father's house the other day going through some old paper work of his in a box. As I was looking through it I found his birth certificate and some other legal documents. Turns out that my father was born a woman and had a sex change 3 years after giving birth to me. My father is actually my long lost mother!! For years my father would tell me that my mother left because she couldn't handle the pressures of mother hood, now I find out that my father is really my mother. I am devistated. I don't know what I should do about this. Should I tell my father that I know the truth about his identity or should I just leave it alone?? Help please!

Yes, by all means talk to your father/mother. I saw a special on tv the other day dealing with this. Your dad is probably afraid of how you will judge him and may feel embarrased. I'm sure he will want your approval. Try not to blame him for the sex change. They say that people are really born that way and it's not a choice. Just like homesexuals, so they say?? You have always accepted him as a father and please continue to do that. I guess the up side to this and is dad has lived as both a man and a women and can ask pretty much any question you may have about either one. That part is cool. I know you are probably devastated but try to be open minded and don't put it off much longer. Do this at a time when you know you have plenty of time to talk and please pray about it. Good luck

Wow...that's unusual ...
I think it all depends on your relationship with your current Mom or Dad .
If the relationship is close , honest and lasting, - talk it through, there is no other way , you will always wonder and ponder and worry.....Maybe just wait till you feel the timing is perfect and an opportunity arises, which will if you want it to...
If it is not close, and troubled maybe, you will have to decide if it is worth talking about, but i would think you must talk it out anyway, for peace of mind's sake, for both of you..
You have not done anything wrong , you just went through the papers , which is your right as a child.
Hope it works out ok for you..

I think you should talk to him about it. Maybe something happened to your mother in the past to make her want to become a man or it may be that she always felt she was a man trapped in a woman's body. Whatever the answer I do feel that you should both talk about this and possible seek some professional help in order to understand and come to terms with the whole situation. Good luck!

Yes you should talk to him open and honestly, tell him how you feel about his deciet but try to be somewhat understanding . he may have been planing to tell you once he thought you were mentaly ready . Its hard to explain to a 6 year old that you are their father but you used to be their mother . talk about confusing. here is a web site www.transfamily.org that can provide more insight as to what he may have been going through. good luck!

WoW! I just looked at your other questions. If all that is going on in your life, you should contact Hollywood! It would make for a very entertaining TV show. And if you made it all up, bet they'd hire you as a writer.

Tell him..her..him..whoever, that you know. If this is true, he/she should have told you the truth long ago. This would make a fantastic book or movie ! Get writing before someone else does

How old are you? I've read your other questions and nobody is as messed up as you would have to be if all your questions were true. Grow up, get a life, get a hobby, or just go away.

For everybody reading this answer, check this persons profile of questions.
