My 3 yr old son just called in absolute hysterics because I didn't wake him up and give him a kiss before I left for work this morning, his dad said he's been crying for over a 1/2 hour. I can just picture him laying on a couch telling his shrink he never felt loved.....

Yes, I forget frequently to pack snacks for my children to take to school, forget their lunch money, etc, etc. I'm a really suckie mom sometimes. Don't worry, he's three, he'll think your the bomb by the time you get home. Call him and sing to him. After he gets about 8, then he won't care as much but he'll know how to make you feel guiltier. My son fell and started screaming "mom are you coming to help me or are you gonna let me lay here and ache for all the neighbors to see.?" ah....kids

A bit of a drama king! Just tell him you kissed him twice last night to make him happy. Funny things kids get upset about. Mommas the best for him.
My son is 33 yrs old but I remember the days when I was the be all for him.

Been there, done that. Wait until the first time you hear the words "I hate you" if you think you feel bad now! And no, you are by no means a bad Mother. You must be a very good one if he is that upset that you forgot to give him a kiss goodbye. He must be one lucky little boy!

He'll be OK. Give him extra hugs and kisses tonight, spend a little time with just him. He won't need therapy. Maybe get him a small toy or surprise for an apology.

oh thats so sweet! its k i went to work once without giving my son a kiss and an hour later my mum bought him in because he wouldnt stop crying! he was 3 at the time too!

Awww! Poor little guy...it's not you, it's his 3-year-old brain. If you were an awful parent, he wouldn't be so upset to have not gotten his morning kiss!

Awwwwwwww - his dad really should have handled that and not let him call you!! Why didn't he tell him that you did kiss him goodbye - he was just so tired he didn't remember?
