I think you mean:

(1/b + 1/2) / (4/b^2 - 1)

Thus...

((b + 2) / 2b) / ((4 - b^2) / b^2)
(b (b + 2)) / (2 (4 - b^2))

You would just have to figure it out the same way if it was 1/4 + 1/2 / 4/9 -1
