They will never stop it but changing the notes does make life more difficult for the counterfeiters and will put them to extra expense.

It makes life difficult for them, especially when it comes to them introducing new holograms as per the new design. However, as soon as the design is studied, someone somewhere will be at it. Didnt stop them when they introduced the Euro notes with all the holograms and watermarkings and uv fibre papers.....they are still forged by the bucket load

The only way to stop Counterfeiting is :-
1) mandatory Death Penalty for Counterfeiters (actually, that only stops the dumb ones who are caught)
2) get rid of all the money (& use Credit/Debit cards only).
