We should be asking why would Haliburton move from US to a different country.. may be for a huge tax break.. ?..

Why can't we make this country the biggest tax haven in the world and bring businesses here?..

I have a suggestion, Congress, Mr. President, pass the Fair Tax bill. The US will become a tax heaven for the world, and all the American capital producing goods abroad, would immediately come back to the good old USA. This in turn will really take economic power from the federal government and back to the people where it belongs.

it seems there will be some form of public backlash against this move. Just like the congressional denial of the ports contracts last year. As it stands, perhaps re-compete their existing contracts and re-score the numbers to allow favorable status to US based companies. Bonus points for US companies, much like we do for small and minority owned businesses today. Then, when the sources of their incomes dry up, these companies will think twice about bailing out of the US just to avoid taxes. If you make it here, pay taxes on it here. simple as that.

I dont blame Haliburton for leaving..,everyone has made them out to be the big bad wolf here in the states.Would you stay in negative territory? They are no different than any other company wanting to make a profit,if companies didnt make profits,we dont have jobs.I like it when companies make profits, that means I have steady work and most americans will. The left need to see they are the ones pushing corporations out of Americas doors..,
1.Unreasonable EPA regulations
2.Higher taxes for Corporations
3.Demanding wage increase for corp
4.Demanding more benefits for corp to pay their employees
5.Wanting to unionize corp

These are just a few reasons why corp are jumping americas ship and we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Halliburton is a Delaware corporation. Moving its corporate offices does not change that fact. There are no tax advantages. It is strictly a good logistical move, as most of their business is in the oilfield sector, and most of the growth in that sector will occur in Asia and Africa.

So the US government should only award contracts to American companies? Seems like you would run short of a few services and goods required to keep the economy going...How much do you import right now?

What should we do? We should either quit trying to tax corporations to death or at least stop whining when they move out of the country to avoid those ridiculous taxes. They aren't in business to provide charity. They exist to make money.

Haliburton is moving its HQ to Dubai, but it is still going to be a US registered company and pay taxes here.

Halliburton "cut and run" to the nation of Dubai, so the USA should cancel all the contracts of this greedy corporation.

The US gov't should only award contracts to American companies.
