A female member of Parliament once told Sir Winston that were he her husband she would poison his coffee,He replied Madam, were I your husband I would drink it. He did his best thinking sitting in the bath getting hammered. I believe he is one of the greatest men of the last century. Will England or any country see one like him ever again. He lead England through her darkest hours and never waivered. Less we forget Sweat, Blood and Tears and the Many that owned so much to so few speech. I am old enough to remember when he died and his coffin was carried up the Thames on the bow of that boat. It is a picture I will never forget.

I never saw a pic of the guy without a brandy in one hand and a cigar in the other. And if his hands were empty for a moment, he was holding his mistress. But Churchill was a brilliant leader. He took England through its darkest hours. He knew what he was up against. He knew what it would take to defeat his enemy. And with all the stress, he lived into his 90s. That's talent.

He had lots of help, Americans, and some good generals, The scotch helped the enourmous stress he must of had. Plu its diffferent when your fighting organized governments like Germany and Japan, Today, we fighting insurgents from no organized govt. (althought supported by Iran and Syria) Its a much different war, even Churchill would have problems with his one.

Churchill was the greatest Brit ever. His leadership was unsurpassed. And if the scotch helped him....then so be it!
Unlike Bush, he had a real plan for victory when he fought a war.

I'm not sure that it made him a better wartime leader, but obviously it didn't hurt. I have heard that Hitler was out of his mind on cocaine when he declared, "Russia? Why not!" So his drug of choice probably wasn't helping him much when making strategic decisions such as that particular blunder. Now our current leader here in the States. . . Hmm. . . Booze, Coke, Weed. . . I think he needs a new drug. Whatever he is on now is not working!

Winston Churchill was, perhaps, one of the strongest leaders the modern world has ever seen...or ever will again. He was unshakable, and didn't require a fleet of advisors to tell him what to think. His commitment to his country and its people was unquestioned...as it was evident to all.
Oh...to have leaders like that again...
