Yes, my former mother in law, she decided to stop taking her dialysis, so she only had days to say goodbye, it was heartbreaking. I also found the love of my life dead on my couch as I arrived home from work one Sunday morning, totally unexpected, I have never recovered ( three and a half years ago), but honestly, having to put down my cancer stricken labrador probably hurt me the worst, as I had to make the decision to do so, and holding her as she died, the memory doesn't fade, and it is a nightmare. I cry for them everyday.

How would you feel if someone was dying in front of you? its a scary thing to watch and I don't want to ever go through it again.

I have on several occasions. It appeared to me as if a switch had been thrown and all the activity ceased. Strangely enough, on each occasion, I felt compelled afterwards to go and have sex. I think it must have been an impulse to reaffirm life in the face of death.

I just get a feeling of helplessness. I try to make the person as comfortable as possible, & let them know that someone is there with them..
