Brake horsepower actually. It's just the measurement of horsepower at the engines output shaft. If you were actually to measure the horsepower at the wheels it would be less than the brake HP. This is because the engine has to operate all of the accessories, pumps, and it has to turn the transmission and transfer power through gears to the wheels. All of that extra stuff siphons off some of the power.
BHP is not a term you here much in the US but it is interchangeable with just plain HP when you are talking about a car. If someone is measuring HP at the wheels they will usually say Wheel Horsepower, or X Horsepower at the wheels.

BRAKE Horse Power is the amount of horsepower at the drive wheel, i. e., how much horse power is being delivered to the ground.
