I live in a basement flat. How can I get better radio reception?

if you have cable tv chances are you also have cable radio (and are paying for it), find out from your cable company

Buy an external radio antenna. It will have a wire, and you can take the actual antenna and stick it outside, or in an open window.

Run an arial wire out your window and up the side of the building.
