Yes espically teams like the Clevleand Indians, Washington red SKins, Alanta Braves, the KC CHiefs, they are all promoting sterotype racism. Those who dont think so would shutter at the Chigago Kalnsman or the San Franscisco Blackguys.

Why should they? People are all too willing to find this, that, and everything else somehow offensive. I'm half Norwegian and half Irish, and take no offense at either the Minnesota Vikings or the University of Notre Dame Fightin' Irish.
If Native American mascots are the biggest problem facing the Native community, all must be sweetness and light on te reservation.

Ah, it's the PC Nazis at work again.
OK, after we get rid of all the Indian mascots / team names (which by the way, are usually complementary references to their bravery or strength - when was the last time you heard of a team called "the Squaws", for instance?), Should PETA step up and demand the banning of animal mascots?

Of course! Who wants some stinking savage drunk loser for a mascot? Give me the US Cavalry anyday! They kicked Indian butt across this nation, and they don't get any credit for beating those wussy squaw-spawn.
