I don't think there are many companies that buy them. That is why you see a lot of pallet users that have them outside with signs saying "free firewood." Some woodcrafters will take the clean ones as free lumber expecting that they will have to run them through a planer to clean them up into usable pieces.

One NY company that claims to deal with your pallets is athttp://www.palletsbyifco.com/pallet_management.asp#0305.
They will clean them, reuse them, keep you in pallets, and chip reycle useless ones. They claim to save you money.
