Many news people will openly admit a political bias. And, even if there is no admission they are submerged in the political and cultural process. I think it reasonable to say that they could hardly help but form opinions. Those opinions surface, sometimes only in body language but they do surface. As a conservative I find most news to be slanted. My buddy is a Liberal and complains of the same thing. It may be more balanced than either of us realize but I don't think so. I think the @%*& Libs have a death grip on the media. That's a joke. I do see the bias from my side and I'm sure others see it from their side.

One thing you need to be careful of is confusing media and commentaters. People like Combs, Springer, O'Reilly and Limbaugh are commentators. They are first and formost entertainers and are concerned about catching and keeping an audience. That's what brings in the sponser money and pays their salary.

One side of the issue is discussed in a book. My I recomment "Bias" by Bernard Goldberg. It is relatively short, compared to War and Peace anyway. And, I found it a good read. He really gives the meadia a tongue lashing. I would love to see the exact same book written from the opposite perspective. Then I would love to see both books be mandatory reading for every voter.

Have a good day and enjoy the book.

Pretrayed?

Newspapers report the news. What news, and how it is reported, depends on the editors and the owners of the newspapers. Many newpapers are owned by the same conglomerate. Very few are independent. And most are slanted to the Liberal views.

My definition of a fair report includes both sides of any story with out editorial. Readers Digest at one point provided information with both sides and just the facts. A few years back it that changed under new management.

The news includes story after story explaining how nothing is an accident. We some how caused this death or that illness, if you unemployed it is no ones fault but your own.

This is used to clear every ones conscious when they deny me and my disabled daughter physical therapy, health care jobs that allow me to work and care for my child. Even the organization put in place to protect our rights have come to believe if my child is not getting physical therapy it is my fault. Well yes not having enough money to pay cash, not having health care, employers not allowing to take off as needed to care for her while she suffers in the hospital. Its my fault.

If my child hates school and wont go to school wont go to doctors, wont take medicine my fault. He since kindergarten has believed he should be treated fairly and with respect he a right to self defense, oh and that he lives in a frees country and has some freedom. Yep I taught him that. The lesson about loving learning fell on deaf ears if any of the above were missing.

All media (to me) is just a bunch of crap. They hype stories, and try to scare you.
Quick example" Yesterday we (California) had a fire in Orange county...A blaze the was caused by some creep buring a stolen car. I think two homes where lost in the fire, and a VERY large area of brush was burned. And that was it.
BUT the media made it a day long event (they wanted more houses to burn) . The next day in the Newspaper "front page headlines" ""FIRESTORM"" gezz!!
