i think their trying to be cool or trendy or else maybe toadie came back from the pub with the munchies and his house mates had put locks on all the cupboards

I think if I remember correctly that the boys smashed the house up including all the walls when they thought Lou was going to evict them. I seem to remember an ongoing joke at the time that even the bathroom wall had a hole in it.

Because, as in all Australian soaps, they all move in with one another or adopt each others kids "oh yes, no problem, you can come and live with me" despite only having about 3 bedrooms for 57 people in one house. In No.30, they sleep in the cupboards.

it was once called house of trouser, they put holes in the cupboards so they did not have to open them, it was a man house they said, so they can be as lazy as they can.

I think its just the design of the doors, I think its supposed to represent it being a shared house. I dont know what the people who live in real life think about them.
