You don't choose to install cookies, but you DO choose to accept them or not.

They're little files (data) that are managed by your Internet browser and keep information about your session or your habits on the site you're visiting.

Normally, this information is valid only for the site you're visiting (e.g. other site can't access this information). So your computer can hold many cookies at one time.

Cookies provide a means for a Web server to induce a client to store information about itself which can subsequently be called up by the Web server when required. This might be information which the user has supplied about themselves, their preferences or their requirements via forms input.

You dont have to install them!

cookies are not something you install. when you visit sites like yahoo.com or yahoo answers the site puts cookies on your computer so that each time you visit the site again it loads a bit faster. every site has cookies. so you don't install them they come automatically.

hope this answers your question

cokies are not installable items ,they are tiny files that are dropped on your hard drive to allow companys websites to know you have visited their site
most cookies are completely safe, and they can be deleted through internet options>general tab,in internet explorer 7 you delete them along with all the other files including histroy and temporary internet files
some cookies can be used for more darker purposes ,and these are officially classed as spyware, and most good scanners like spybot( http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html)and lavasoft adaware(http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5)will clean these types of cookies
good luck

You don't need to install them. You will get them automatically when you visits various website.

More likely you will need to get rid of them on a regular basis as they tend to accumulate and used up space on your storage space - especially the chocolate chip ones - they are the worst offenders (so much calories them ones!)

If they're the chocolate chip ones that are nice and flat, they will probably fit in the slot on the floppy drive. For thicker ones like oatmeal raisin and such you might have to cram them in the CDROM tray instead.

They are already there. If you go anywhere on the web you can bet they are loading you up with cookies.
