Preferrably someone who has used something before and knows it works.

But all suggestions are appreciated!

Rubbing Alcohol will remove magic marker from almost any surface and you usually have that lying around the house already. Instead of pouring it onto your floor, just wet a rag with it and it should wipe right up. Good Luck!!

This all depends on what finish your door is. I used a magic eraser on a wooden table with green permanent marker. It came right off.
I rubbed VERY lightly though. I didn't want to risk taking the finish off of the wood and damaging it. If you give it a try, it probably will get it off, just be super careful not to rub too hard and ruin the finish or stain on the wood.

Try Goo-Gone; you can find it at Wal-Mart. I know that it will remove magic marker from a chalkboard...don't know for sure about the permanent marker but it's worth a try...it's really good stuff. Good luck!

Kerosene or Turpentine and a soft bristle brush will get rid of it without damaging too much of your floor finish. but remember, the harder you scrub (or the more surface you scrub), the more potential damage you can do.

Also.3M has a product called "graffiti remover" stuff works well, but very expensive and hard to find.

Honestly, I have used WD-40 on almost every hard surface, for almost every stain, and it worked..........surprisingly. BUT, if it is an antique or something needing to be preserved, I would look for alternatives.

I would try a magic eraser first... it's only a couple bucks, and I find they get rid of almost anything.
