What type of school should you try to go to, 4 year or 2 year? It's not that I couldn't do the work, I just played more and studied less. But that's over with. And my GPA is below 2.0.

I did the same thing but do not worry..
I stayed at my 4 year university after being on academic probation and WELL BELOW 2.0 I got my act together then even transfered into a better school and i just graduated with high honors....
Do what ever you have to do t oraise your GPA everyones situation is different and you will have better luck raising your GPA at community college or a mediocre university (what i did) then transfering to a better school. Good Luck

A state school is also another good option if the community college nearby doesn't have the exact program you want.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that the place you go to first to try to fix your GPA is a place that your goal school excepts credits from! Otherwise you're going just for the sake of learning things & proving you're serious about being a student now. Both of those are ok reasons, but not the best use of your $$$ if you can make sure ahead of time that the credits will more or less all transfer once you head back to where you really wanted to be!
