I also heard that Whiskers do the same thing to cat food, so that your cat will not find the other brands as nice and you keep having to buy the product.

I heard that on an informercial from Kevin Trudeau...he was selling his books, 2 for Natural Cures and 1 for Cures for Weight Loss and he mentioned that they put sugar in the fries to get people hooked on it...so if that is what is really going on I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing that with cat food too. Come to think of it, I think they must have done that with whiskers, because my mom had a cat and all she ever fed it was the whiskers brand...one night I picked up something that was alot cheaper at the store and put it in his dish...he sniffed it a bit and tasted it but then just sat there staring at it and my mom told me he has to have Whiskers only or else he won't eat. So then I had to go back to the store and buy Whiskers and he ate it...huh, go figure, I thought cats can't tell the difference, food is food, right!!!!!!

I think they add quite a lot of salt sugar and fat to make it tasty.
I am really into healthy food and have a good diet but I think there is a time and place for Mcdonalds in life just as long as that time and place is not every day or week.

I think it is more to flavour the product!! But yes the amount of sugar they put in their products is ridiculous!! After eating Mcdonalds I find I have to brush my teeth straight away or otherwise about an hour later my teeth feel all furry as if I haven't cleaned them for an entire day!!

I've heard that Burger King coats their fries with sugar to make them brown when cooking.

Doubtful McDonald's adds sugar to anything they don't have to, it's an extra expense.

I've never known my cat to go for sweets, maybe sweet meats, if they still sell those.

No--not to get people hooked--to make it easier for them--with fast food-adding oil, salt and sugar and other artificial ingredients is a quick way to make something taste good...otherwise you need more careful selection of ingredients, skilled chefs, and longer cooking times in order to make tasty and healthy foods..so they are dong it to make foods taste good in quick and easy, cheap ways...

I think it's not the sugar but the MSG that gets people hooked on their food.

mcdonalds just makes really good, it has nothing to do with the amt. of sugar added to the food. dunknin donuts makes delicious donuts, and so does krispy creme. a cheeseburger is a cheeseburger and a donut with sprinkles is just a donut with sprinkles. mcdonalds is just another company that sells another cheeseburger!

Yes! And now I know why my mom didn't take me there a lot when I was a kid. PLEASE don't ever take you or your kid ( If you have one) to McDonalds more than twice a week. And believe me, you'll weigh much more than you did before.

Yes they do. and do you know why their fries are so irresistible? here is the answer: one of the main ingredients in MacDonald's fries is milk!! I know, it's not just potatoes and oil as it used to be.
