I usually crawl into the bed and pull the covers over my head.......not a very effective way of coping, I know....

Used to drown it in alcohol, but that just made it worse....

I come here, uncle billy...it's the easiest way to escape most of the time. I used to drive up to my grandparents' cabin by the lake, and there are times when I go outside and read a book, but it's not quite as easy to do those things anymore since I've got a three-year-old. This place is a quick and cheap escape...and it's been well worth it :)

A question worthy of a serious answer...my life was actually pretty cushy up until about 4 years ago, then many things went wrong. I deal with it by accepting that, with a few exceptions, such as my girlfriend, life will not get better again, this is how things really work, and hope is a lying *****.

I know it sounds awful, but it really does make life easier to deal with. In a way, it's liberating.

I cope. When I've escaped in the past, it came back to bite me in the @ss, so now I just deal with it.

outlets that motivate , inspire and allow me to vent such as deep-sleeping (sleep heals everything even emotionally its scientifically dreams are releases of inner pented up emotions),pampering myself with facials, nice warm baths, do my hair (builds up self esteem when you love yourself), writting/blogging, watching interesting tv programs that really stimulates you (my guilty pleasure includes niptuck/tyra banks show/desperate housewives and the previously defunct sex in the city), cleaning and revamping up my room/wardrobe,retail therapy (as the latter and former are theraputic), workin-out and dancing (increasing endorphines in ur brains - natural painkillers) and lastly i strenghten and built up my relationships with people close by and they're the ones i turn to to vent and escape when the goin gets tough. talking and being with loved ones really help as it internalized your problems and give you a better perspective.

either that or i go away for a while on my own to places and do things where people wouldnt know who i am and i can be truly free to think, be whoever i wanna be and do the things wi/o giving a damn abt anything.

I take my dog and head for French Creek...I do some introspection to make sure that my expectations are not the driving mode for it all. Coping mechanisms are inside of us all.
