I heard on the radio today that it is a new trend, to have a separate room from your partner because of snoring, so you can get a good night's rest. I think its a good idea. My partner gets up in the middle of the night all the time waking me up. I hate losing sleep like that when I have to work the next morning.

I used to feel sorry for couples that slept apart, now I realize it is more because of lack of sleep then marital distress.
I would like the extra sleep, but would miss my mate. So for now, we will share a bed as usual.

It is not a new trend. It has been going on for a long, long time. I have been married 22 years and we sleep apart. There are many reasons, but our separate bed situation resulted as a lack of sleep situation and different sleeping times, waking times and so forth. There are many advantages to sleeping separately. We sleep separately now because economically we have a larger house and and extra bed rooms. The rooms are next to each other and I have installed a private direct connecting door that allows us to visit without going through the hall way. It is always open and we are free to visit one another, which we do frequently. Like boxers, we do our thing then return to our separate corners. I always scoring the Knock out. Also, we are at the phase in our lives that we do not have to be all over each other constantly. Both of us enjoy the moments alone that sleeping separately bring us. Again we will join each other for intimate moments and it seems to have a special feel to it, as if it is something special. For the most part I enjoy the privacy and liberty sleeping alone provides me.

I've seen times when an extra bedroom just for me would be a blessing because my boyfriend does snore really loud, but, on the other hand, I like the feeling of closeness and security of sleeping with him. Honestly, I don't think he would tolerate me sleeping in the other room. I think this would upset him. But, under certain circumstances a spare bedroom is a great idea.

My honey snores extremely loud at night. Even though on occasion it does bother me, I would never think about not sleeping next to him. I think it's one of those things that keeps a couple close, by sleeping together.

I couldn't stand not being in the same bed with my husband and knowing he is in the house! I sleep so much better when he is there, but neither of us snore!

yes off course we sleep in the same bed! I can't sleep alone anymore...
and snoring can be helped by medication or the wearing of earplugs (don't know if this is a correct word...)

Honestly it sometimes works out great, because my mom and dad had been doing that for many years now and they are happily married and a great sex live, dad said going in different rooms is awesome and you get to change your theme every time, so i say go for it

I read that article also, that lady with the huge house, skylight and airport noise muffs.
It depends on what is going on, sometimes same, sometimes her on the couch. Depends on how much writing I am getting done, in the computer room.
