Watch a game where a starting center is injured and the snaps are fouled up or fumbled.
Or watch a game where a rookie is pressed into pass protection against an experienced defensive end or tackle and see the difference in the passing game when the quarterback is rushed and making mistakes as a result.

Yes the offensive line is the most important position other than the quarterback. Without an o-line the team could not function the center has to make line calls to tell the others if he sees a blitz coming the guards are the close ones to the ball and often get help from the center the tackle position is the toughest to play do to the fact that the defensive ends are faster and quicker than you and you do not get help from the interior line because they are already covered. You don't need to have the five best lineman on earth to be good an o-line works better with what it's familiar with so if you get five average offensive lineman to work together and stay together for a long period of time they will just know when to help each other out and what to do in certain situations.

Tricky question. O lineman go pretty much unnoticed through the course of a game unless they make a mistake (miss a block, false start, holding). Thier contribution is a key one though. QB cant pass if he isnt blocked for nor can RB run. THe most Important pos. on O-line would be the QB's blind side(LT-RT), if the DE gets an unblocked shot at the QB his career may be over. To take a generic line that u hear all the time...its a team game 1 is as important as the other.

welcome to the most exciting game on earth.
the Offensive Line is VERY important. the reason they don't receive as much focus is because they operate as a unit- all 5 of them have to operate together correctly in order for the offense to be successful. if even ONE player on the Offensive Line (Called O-Line for short) has a bad day, then the whole offense could be shut down.
In fact, many games are won or lost by how well the O-Line controls the line of scrimmage (that place where all the blocking and collisions take place). But, as you said, the focus is always on the QB, the RB or the WR's that make the big plays. just remember- all those big plays start up front, with good blocking from the O-Line.
Enjoy the game!

Well glad to see you are asking, shows you'd like to learn more about the sport. To be honest the O-Linesman is one of the most important part to an offense. They just don't really get the credit because their position isn't that exciting to watch and it is harder to really understand their stats. Ok the Linesman are the ones who block for the QB. If they do a good job then the QB has plenty of time to look at the Receivers and see who is open and who they can pass to. They also open the running lanes for the RBs. Meaning they block the Defensive Linesman and allow the RB to have somewhere to run. They are probably the biggest aspect of the game on offense and they just don't get the credit they deserve. Basically you only hear about them when they miss the block and do something wrong.

Yes, the offensive lineman are extremely important. For proof of that just watch an Oakland Raiders game. They have the worst line in football right now and it shows in how bad their offense is. Their QB is on his back every other play. All the legends are the skill players you mentioned, but none of those guys would have been able to do anything without the unsung heroes on the offensive line.

Yes the O-line is a very important position to play because the control everything for everyone. They block rushers so the QB has time to throw to one of those receivers and they also block and create holes for the running back so he can run a long TD run. The O-line is probably just behind the QB as the most important role on a team.

Offensive line is arguably the most important position to the offense. Rarely does a Rb or Qb have any success without a solid O-line (only Barry Sanders comes to mind)

oh hell ya he can i mean he aint gonna score butloads of touchdowns but he makes a difference i know this for a fact because i play running back if the lineman aint blocking good i get no yards and if get no yards i dont score if i dont score that means were not getting points other than our QB scoring or our wide recievers but still if the line a int blocking than he has no time to throw so we dont score at all so when it comes down to it linemen are what the game deends on without lineman the RB, QB, and WR are nothing so their u go i hope i answered it right

Yes.
If the defensive line keeps hitting the QB or RB in the backfield he'd look pretty stupid and get a nick name like "the turnstile"
If you want something more obvious, he can recover fumbles.
The game below was important last season (AFC championship game Colts vs. Patriots for the right to face the Bears.) It has three TDs by offensive linemen. (1 is a cheat since Andruzzi lined up as a fullback, but Mankins and Saturday were "vital" by your standards as well as mine.)
