My first instinct would be to use chilled, used teabags. Lie down, place the bags on your closed eyes for 5-10 minutes, and relax.
Other remedies include using cold water on your face or chilled cucumbers on your eyes, but I cannot attest to their effectiveness.
If you wear contact lenses, you might want to take them out before you go to sleep because they may be irritating your eyes and causing puffiness.
You should also moisturize the eye area if you can. You could try an eye cream that has an aloe base in it. I have also heard good things about Kiehls' creamy eye treatment and BeneFit Ooh la Lift.
If all else fails, try some hemorrhoid cream. This is a secret models and actors use.
Puffiness can be caused by water retention. So, dietary changes may also need to be implemented. Try to cut down your intake of salt, and drink at least 7 glasses of water a day in order to flush impurities from your system out. Drinking lots of water also helps with general health and with the appearance of pimples and other such skin blemishes.

using used tea bags will help! my mother used to chill the used tea bags(moist of course) in the fridge when she's done with the tea and at night before she sleeps she would put the cold tea bags on her eyes...
or you can also try out some eye cream meant for puffiness... Loreal Eye Defense DO work for puffiness. but if you're having dark eye rings i recommend that you do not try out that product coz it would somehow darken dark eye rings.... There's a brand called Bio-Essence in singapore... but i have no idea how international this brand is now...

Lie in bed with Slices of cold cucumber on eyes for 20 minutes.
Chill 4 spoons in icy water, then place 1 spoon on each eye, when you feel they are not cold enough replace them with the spoons in the glass, repeat until you see improvement.
Wrap ice cubes in a cloth and put on the eyes

Anything cool and moist will help, however there are loads of great products out there that have added benefits. I would try Mary Kay's Indulge Soothing Eye Gel and keep it in the fridge or another cool place when not in use. Apply as directed. :)
