Delete, uninstall, quarantine, clean?

can any1 give me the difference between these 4 terms?

Delete is simply to remove a file, similar to throwing something in the trash.

Uninstall is to remove a program or application through Add/Remove programs or by using the applications uninstall link. This removes all associated files, registry entries, program menu and desktop shortcuts.

Quarantine is what anti virus apps do when a file is flagged as a virus. The file is moved to a protected area where it is not allowed to be executed or harm the system.

Clean in most cases means to delete a file and wipe the contents from the hard drive. This differs from delete in that deleting only removes the files entry from the file table, but the file remains on the disk (even though you can't see it) until that area of the disk is overwritten. Cleaning deletes and overwrites the space the file occupied making it difficult to recover. It can also mean to attempt to remove a virus attached to the file.

clean - Is when you remove a corrupt file or virus that has been embeded into a program.
