clearly states on application form, that 'a cv is not required and will not be considered.'

Find out what is required by asking/telephoning the relevant people involved in the selection process which I would assume would be the school. Phone the secretary and ask. She will know what to do or who to speak to.
If you are required to write an application letter, post up your letter and we can look at it and make suggestions.
Good Luck!

Who told you that a CV was not required, seems a bit strange to me, anyway phone the school you are applying for a postion with and ask them what the procedure for applying for Care Teaching Assistant is, no one on this web site will really know only the school who is advertising the job. Pick up the phone now dont wait around , good jobs dont stay around for long. Good Luck

Keep it as short as possible, and to the point.

Find out SPECIFICALLY who you need to address the letter to, don't just say Dear Sir/Madam (just contact the organisation in question to find out if necessary).

Start off by stating what job you are applying for and where you saw the advertisement.

Briefly state your qualifications and work history, focusing primarily on what skills you can bring to the job. Include why you are interested in this particular position.

End by stating your availability for interview, plus you hope to hear from them soon.

You do not need to say anymore. Check spelling, grammar, and format. This is really important.

Good luck!

Including your CV is ESSENTIAL when applying for any job. In the covering letter you just BRIEFLY highlight what you have done IN and OUT of work.
