I am going to apply at the Marriott and Hyatt Hotels. Does Human Resources deny people like me? It happened in 1999. Also, I have an idea to just call HR without them knowing my name. ANSWERS?

Most major corporations do a background check. Having a felony on your record is often going to be a problem.

I think that's BS quite honestly. You pay your debt to society, get released, and then they make it hard for you to get a legitimate legal job for the rest of your life. That doesn't make much sense to me.

I agree with the above however I also think that it depends on the job that you will be doing. If it happened years ago, you've already paid the price and hopefully won't be doing it again. Personally, to me that would be discrimination, again depending on the nature of the felony. But each hotel, like their franchise, is different. I would give a call to the HR department to see where you might fit in with your issue and also have a better answer to your question.

On each application I bear in concepts seeing, inspite of the job, it asks you to checklist any criminal's or convictions, even though it additionally says that it would not inevitably disqualify you from employment. It probably relies upon on the placement you're are utilising for and what the criminal become.
