You can, if you'd like, give a brief explaination for your choices. This should be very interesting!

1. Barry Bonds. Easily #1. Combination of arrogant, smug, self-righteous, dishonest, stupid and mean. It is a hard combination to beat.

2. Pete Rose. Almost as bad as Bonds, but not quite as mean. But he is stupider in an obvious, more inconcealable way.

3. Muhammad Ali. In his illness, he has garnered a lot of sympathy. But when he boxed, he was a huge jerk. Big mouthed, poor loser, an even worse winner. You can thank him for all the showboating, bigmouthing grandstanding that so permeates professional, and even college sports. He really started it. Also a draft dodger. Not half the man a Joe Louis was, or Floyd Patterson was, or even Joe Frazier was.

4. John McEnroe. No one -- NO ONE -- was harder, more unfairly, on officials than this spoiled brat of a crybaby. Poor, powerless anonymous linejudges took a beating from him over close calls. Spoiled rich kid should have been smacked around by his spoiled rich guy father.

5. Albert Belle. Horrible temper, bad attitude, bad teammate. Once chased after neighborhood kids in his car on Halloween because they threw eggs at his house. I think he hit one of them. I hope they sued him.

6. Bill Romanowski. Dirty player/cheap shot artist; spitter. Tried to make up for what he lacked in talent by being a repulsive human being.

7. Pedro Martinez. A phony and a coward. Throws at heads routinely, but won't own up to it, then hides behind the big guys in the dugout. Notice how he doesn't throw inside so much since he's back in the NL where he has to go to bat? Hell, he hardly even plays anymore.

8. Terrell Owens. Foolish and stupid. Combines bad sportsmanship and being a bad teammate. A true cancer on his team.

9. Danny Ainge. Biggest crybaby I ever saw on a basketball court. If there was any justice, he would have been punched out during every game.

10. Mike Tyson. Huge talent, huge jerk. Woman beater, cheater, but I always felt sorry for him a little, because I didn't think he was a bad guy down deep.

Honorable mentions: Kenny Rogers (hitting a cameraman -- c'mon!); Frank Francisco (throwing a chair into the stands?); all those Detroit Pistons who went into the stands; Manny Ramirez (How many all star hitting outfielders do you know of that nobody wanted when his team offered to GIVE HIM AWAY to whoever would pay his salary? A dog, a quitter, another cancer); Jack Tatum (excellent player, cheap shot artist, dirty player, and a big mouth); Sean Taylor (see Jack Tatum).

Owner/Coach category (if we had one): Bobby Knight; Jerry Jones; Tony LaRussa; Daniel Snyder; Don Nelson; Marty Schottenheimer; Al Davis.

I could go on.

Marty McSorley - NHL player who laid Donald Brashear's skull open with his stick. Nasty, nasty man.
Barry Bonds - easy choice
Terrell Owens - So tired of seeing his smiling mug on TV
Ty Cobb - based on what I've read, this guy was a BIG JERK!
Albert Belle - Corked bat - mistake. forearm to SS - low blow.
Ron Artest - Most every NBA player could make this list
Ryan Leaf - Short career, but very self centered during his time
Dennis Rodman - Wow, maybe not so much a jerk as strange.
Rasheed Wallace - Ask any referee
Bobby Knight - Done great things for college basketball, but man is he a classless guy.

I'm going to limit my answers to baseball just because this question was asked in the Baseball category.

10. Jeffrey Maier - As a 12-year old, he reached over the fence and forever altered the course of baseball during the Orioles-Yankees ALCS. New York hailed him as a hero, but his actions were against baseball rules and not a single umpire noticed what had happened during the game. If memory serves, he robbed Brady Anderson of a routine out and gave Derek Jeter an undeserved home run. Now he's 22 with a real chance of making the major leagues, which is why I'm able to include him in my list.
9. Jeter - The root of my dislike for him can be found above, but he's done nothing in the past 10 years to be even slightly more likeable. As you may have guessed, I'm not from New York.
8. Roger Clemens - As if the offseason drama from year to year after his "retirement" (when was that, anyway? 2003?) isn't enough reason, there's also the matter of the times he faced Mike Piazza in 2000. First, during interleague play, he gave Piazza a concussion. Then, during the World Series, one of his pitches broke Piazza's bat. The broken part flew toward Clemens, who picked it up and threw it back at Piazza, nearly inciting a bench-clearing brawl. Had a brawl taken place, Clemens would be #4 on my list.
7. Carlos Zambrano - He once intentionally beaned Jim Edmonds for no reason. Also, he showboats after just about any strikeout, but demanded that Ozzie Guillen "keep A.J. Pierzynski under control" when A.J. showboated after hitting a home run off him.
6. Sammy Sosa - He was America's darling the year he hit 66 homers, but in the years between then and now, we know it was a combination of unnatural growth (steroids? or HGH?) and a corked bat that allowed such a season (and 3 others of at least 60), not to mention he quit on the Cubs in his final season with the team.
5. Kenny Rogers - He once kicked a cameraman in the balls. Furthermore, he cheated on multiple occasions in the 2006 postseason with a substance he claimed was dirt. Tony LaRussa was correct in saying it "didn't look like dirt".
4. Jose Lima - Remember the year he won 20 games? Before winning his 20th game, he promised to take out the entire Houston Astros team for dinner. Afterwards, he backed out of that promise, but thankfully for the team, Darryl Kile picked up the bill.
3. Barry Bonds - We all know why, and he would be #1 if not for Jason Grimsley and Jose Canseco.
2. Grimsley - He's a journeyman reliever who cheated (albeit not very well, as his #s indicate) and ratted out some of his teammates.
1. Canseco - He's a cheater who accused many others (some rightfully so, but not all) of doing the same.

For Maier and Clemens, I had to run web searches to gather some information, even though my comments are still incomplete. For the others, my information is purely from memory.

Barry Bonds (Steroid abuser and an ****** personality)
Michael Jordan (Bitches to refs when he doesn't get his way, and the refs are too soft on him.)
Pedro Martinez (Throws down Don Zimmer and hits Jeter and Soriano with pitches, back to back and threatens to hit Posada in the head with a pitch.)
Manny Ramirez (Admires his home runs, nearly gets into a fight with Clemens.)
Jason Varitek (Gets into a fight with A-Rod and talks sh*t about the Yankees.)
Curt Schilling (Says he wants to shut up the Yankee fans, and wears a Yankee haters hat. He has talked sh*t since the D-Backs won the World Series in 2001.)
Bill Russell (Wouldn't sign autographs.)
Josh Beckett (Told the Yankee fans to go home and cursed at the fans after the Marlins World Series win in 2003.)
Alonzo Mourning (Also acts like a ***** when he doesn't gat his way. He asks to be traded from the Nets when it looked like the Nets would not make the playoffs.)
John Rocker (Talked sh*t about New York and New Yorkers. He also said that he put up with more sh*t than Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron.)
