so the verdict:---vascodagama only figured out the sea route from europe to india...and should not be called as "the discoverer of india.....there are people who been to india much before that -st thomas is one among them who came all the way from euro asia which we believe travelled by land because we dont have evidences to prove he travelled by water....then he should have entered india through homalayas or the punjab rajestan or gujarat routes or through the north east...so the christian belief of he landed in kodungallur by sea need to be challenged...he came to north india first and not kerala....or otherwise its not vasco but st thomas who discovered the sear route....

You are missing the point. Of course China knew about India and so did the Arab world and many countries around the world including Europe and Egypt etc. People who travelled the world in those days were few and far between due to very poor means of communication. Tales of India's riches in spices, fine fabrics, arts and crafts including precious metals and ivory were the envy of the world.

Therefore the land routes into India were well known. Some of the shorter seafarer routes may also be preciously safeguareded by the traders.

If you study the backgound history of the spice trade from India you will find out that the Europeans were trying to find a trade route to India through the sea, as coming across the Himalayan mountains through the Khybar pass etc. was not always an easy game.

How did St. Thomas got to India - how authentic is that information. It's very easy to verify that with the scientific techniques that are available today.

Even a brief histoy of India will demonstarte how many different people were trying to re-discover it for others for one reason or another. We all konw that India has existed in its present location with its own indigenous people for at least tens of thousands of years if not more.

sorry but you are making basic mistake in land and sea route.

sea and land trade routes are as old as known history, between India and other countries.silk route is very famous.

sea routes were well established from India to Persia and south east Asia. Vasco da Gama came to India first time in history via Cape of Good Hope, before him this route circumventing Africa and across Indian ocean was not known.

Gather your facts before you could challenge something.

All the best...

Some good points there ,also check into the (Acts 8 26-40)Ethiopian Eunoch, among others where one time there was speculation that he may have been from India or was it Africa, that part is slipping from my memory.
