Why is neptune and not pluto the farthest planet from the sun until 1999?
also, how many rings jupiter has?saturn?uranus?neptune?

I'm just curious.

Pluto has a highly eccentric orbit which periodically intersects with Neptune. They won't collide however because Pluto's orbit is also inclined to the ecliptic. Pluto is actually quite a distance "above"Neptune.

Secondly, Pluto orbits the Sun twice for every three orbits of Neptune. The two planets are said to be in a "resonance orbit". For such orbits, the two bodies never get close to each other. In fact, the closest the two planets come to each other is 2 billion kilometers.

Below are data on the various ring systems.

bcoz the orbit of neptune passes through pluto,
jupiter has no ring,
saturn has 8 rings,urabus has 2,neptune has 1 also.

it was decided pluto is no more a planet, cause in general one needed to find a way to circumvent declaration problems with more and more kuiper-belt objects.

The number of rings on the outer planets ...uh... i'm afraid that question cannot really be answered, since cassini observed spiral-like features within the structure of the rings.
these rings seem to be a more dynamic structure than expected, so how would you count them ?
today 100, tomorrow 102 ..

i think its new to a lot of people that jupiter, uranus and neptune have rings too. soooo
why not start counting number of (dwarf)-planets with rings, over number of rings .. i bet that may start to be more fun.. at least when NASA's new horizons spacecraft arrives at pluto ;)
