gene - if your still around - the person i spoke to was a physicist at syd uni - i asked around and he was well known - i also thought that your thoughts were correct - but maybe in the inner sanctum of scientists there might be change in the wind

The ether theory was falsified by the Michelson-Morley experiment in 1887 (at my alma meter Case Western Reserve University). They were awarded the Nobel Prize 100 years ago this year.
