self contentment. if you are satified with what you have, what you do with what you have, how you use it, lend it , share it. i guess it boils down to the "the golden rule" do unto others as you would have them do unto you. i dont have much ,i dont need much , what i do have i value, what i do have i share with others.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

Love and blessings

Making a difference in the world; helping people. I chant Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo to accomplish my goals. That is the most important thing in my life, above all else.
My experience with this has been over the last 38 years. We do this to overcome our problems, acieve our goals, to accomplish world peace -to be happy. When we find a challenge in our lives, we chant to overcome it.
I have done this for many, many things over the years. The harder the problem, the more I chanted. One of the things that is so wonderful when I chant is the feeling I get inside. I feel as if my life has expanded to the size of the universe. My problems become small and manageable. After chanting for a long time, I feel lighter, even physically. It's amazing.
Chanting brings out my wisdom. While I can become mired in mundane events, but when I go chant for a while, the wisdom I need comes to the top.
There is so much more to say here, but this is a start.

According to my personal experience, I have to say that I try to let myself be guided by what I feel it's right. So far, I know that money, life security (by this I mean, having a job, a car, a house, social status, etc) are not the answer, because none of these have made me happy.
I feel more pleased with myself when I help others, and see my action has done a difference in today's world.

What drives me to continue this journey that is life is the fact of friends and family. The people who matter most to you are the ones that need you as-well. When your short life comes to an end either abruptly or otherwise it's those people who mourn you, who miss you and who are hurt by your passing. To live as full and as long a life as you can for those who love is the passion that spurs not just me but a lot of people on this beautiful earth.

The most important things in my life are God, my family and my friends. I feel we are here really to help each other. I live by the code of Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I make mistakes sometimes but everyone does. You just have to be vigilant and try not to repeat your mistake if you can. My family has a "Do for others" day once a week where we go visit the elderly in our community and do things for them that they need done. Of course, I do for others anytime I can but this day is a special day devoted to other people's needs. I think this is teaching my children the way we truly need to treat others and help them cope with life with other people.

Empathy.
It is impossible to know yourself, others or understand the world and it's events without it.
I personally find it very funny that many people do not value empathy, they think it's a valueless emotion which shows weakness.
Quite the opposite, I'm constantly beating aggressors just by knowing their next move.
And if used badly can be a more predatory instinct against the weak than any that just despise them can dream up.

Passing on your errors and mistakes to those around you, prefably younger, so things start to change for the better and life can be simpler and easier, to enable us to enjoy life more.

The only problem with that is, life doesnt teach you to listen to others until its a bit too late. Talking is important in life. Understanding where people are coming from and why they do certain things. understanding the TRUE meanings to things.

Most important in life is to enjoy every moment. I use to rush around trying to get things done that I never enjoyed any of it. One day I got up and realised I had lived so many years just rushing around. Now every thing I do I try to enjoy. Even when stuck in traffic, I don't stress now I just enjoy the moment.

Taking care of yourself is most important - I am sometimes giving to a fault, but when others ask you to go out on a limb for them, for the team etc. think about it and see how it will impact you.
