It plays dvd's but I can't seem to find out if it will burn dvd's. I checked the driver and it's TSSTcorp CDW/DVD TS-L462C. How do I find out?

Look for a DVD Writer or RW logo on the front panel of the drive.

by what you typed it is a cd re writer and dvd player combo! see the cdw/dvd you typed? you look at that! and it will say if it had dvdr or dvdrw on it then it will but this doesn't! you can only burn cds

with this you are only able to play dvds not burn them, you need a cd/dvd rewriter! then you can burn anything, if you can or have someone who can install it you can usually buy onone for between 50 and 100 dollars depending on the brand!good luck!!

It is a cd burner that plays DVDs it cant burn DVDs but you can burn mini dvds on a cd or VCD you need NERO

Our's says DVD +/- Writer & CD-Writer on the outside

According to Photodex, your CD-drive will not burn DVDs, it will read them, just not write them.
