The first thing to do is to decide what type of adoption you are interested in. There are several options available - US adoption; international adoption; open adoption (where you stay in touch with the biological parents); foster/adopt. Speaking to a local adoption agency would probably be the first suggestion I would make - they can help you determine what is the best type of adoption for your family.
Good luck to you! Adoption is a wonderful journey with so many blessings!

I agree with you that you are an ideal candidate however Bureaucracy abounds and it always will.
Did you know that there are hundreds of children left in care in the UK who started out as babies to be adopted but the system took so long and rejections after rejections happened and in the end no one got the child and they are still in care to this day.
Its a bloody sin sorry to swear but it makes me angry.
Come on all you do gooders your actually no gooders get your finger out and shape yourselves.
Good luck with your adoption plans.

I applaude you, I'm sure there are many organisations around who you could get in touch with, social services may be able to point you in the right direction.
I think the actual process of adopting is based on different criteria which they will explain to you.
Good luck.

before you jump into it try fostering first as this can be more rewarding and there are all kinds of children need short term and long term fostering not that you may be in it for mmoney but it pays well to foster and you get lots of support good luck
